Position Description

The Senior Tax Associate will handle the following:

  • Perform tax compliance functions for high net worth individuals and their families including  return preparation and planning.  Return types include income, gift and estate, trusts, partnerships, S Corps, and private foundations for our clients.
  • Prepare and analyze comprehensive quarterly income tax projections that incorporate multiple scenarios in order to determine the optimal tax planning strategies to recommend to individual clients.
  • Research tax issues facing our clients and formulate professional opinions.
  • Correspond with the IRS and state tax authorities as needed to respond to tax notices, resolve disputes, and assist in the audit process, if necessary.
  • Proactively keep apprised of the ever-changing tax landscape (e.g., laws, proposals, tax strategies, etc.) as it relates to our clients.
  • Assist our clients in gathering their tax documents and information, responding to clients’ questions and requests, etc.
  • Be receptive to developing the critical skills necessary to build and sustain a strong professional tax proficiency as well as grow and nurture client relationships.
  • Work well with remote team members located in different CTC offices or on work from home days.

Candidate Description

Qualified candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in accounting with 3 or more years’ experience in public accounting specific to taxation of individuals. Applicant should also have an understanding of trust, gift, estate, private foundation, and partnership taxation. Furthermore, applicant should have basic knowledge of taxation of financial instruments and general familiarity with financial products and trading including stocks, bonds, and alternative/private investment vehicles. 

Chilton seeks candidates who have outstanding analytical skills coupled with strong organizational and communication skills. Applicant should be proactive, motivated, a self-starter, passionate, and work well in a team environment.  CPA credential required; graduate degree a plus.

This role can be based out of any of our office locations. Remote option possibly available for strong candidates in other US locations, with periodic travel to various offices.
